Betty Joan Efird (76) went to be with her Savior Jesus Christ November 15, 2016. Betty was born in Wadesboro, North Carolina to Lester and Gladys Efird. She was born with deformed legs. At a young age, both legs were amputated and she was able to walk on artificial limbs. It was during these early years that she accepted Christ as her personal Savior. Betty graduated from Lakeland High School in Lakeland, Florida in 1958. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible from Columbia Bible College. Betty taught Bible in the public schools of Chattanooga for seventeen years.
She is preceded in death by Lester and Gladys Efird.
Betty is survived by: sister, Becky Encinosa (husband Bill Encinosa Jr.), nephew, Dr. Bill Encinosa III (wife Dr. Kyung), nieces, Laura Jones (husband Kyle), Leslie Bridges (husband Jay), seven great nieces and nephews, and one great great nephew.
It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.
