It is with regret that we announce the death of Betty Jo Yell age 84 of Hazel Green who passed away Saturday January 30, 2021 at her residence. Betty was a life long resident of Hazel Green, she was a hardworking devout Christian and was loved deeply by all her family and friends. She was a graduate of Hazel Green High School. Betty retired with the Federal Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service. Over the years, she became friends with all the farmers in Madison County. She taught us to be kind, loving and to love Jesus. Betty Askins Yell will leave behind a legacy as a kindhearted, strong and thoughtful mother, sister, grandmother and friend. Betty Askins Yell is now in the glorious kingdom of God and it is well with our soul.
She is survived by her daughter, Bonita and Rodney Davidson, her son Johnnie and Sheri Yell, her son in law, Greg Marty, her grandchildren, Nikki, Kayla, Ashley, Amber and Lauren, her great grandchildren, Harley, Ginger, Taylor, Skylar, Noah, Brooklyn, Jackson, Bryson, Alexander. Branum, Forrest and Karaline, her great great grandchildren, Krew, Lily, Karson, Hudson, Lynden, Atlas and Athena, her loving special close friends Robbie, Kim and Austin, her sweet neighbor, Miss Peggy and her friend and sister in law Jennie Yell Buffington, sister in law, Edna Askins. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Yell, one son, Jackie Yell, one daughter, Chris Yell Marty and her parents, Lloyd K. and Kathleen Trentham Askins.
