Betty Jo Thompson Johnson, 93, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 9:19 p.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Southfield Village in South Bend, IN.
She was born on June 13, 1928 to the late Eldridge Edmund and Edith Pearl (Holstein) Craddock in Olcott, WV, and has lived in South Bend since 2010. Along with her parents; she was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Edmund Eldridge Craddock and Walter Anderson Craddock.
Betty Jo was retired from Motorola/Quasar Inc. in Franklin Park, IL, where she worked as an Industrial Engineer for 30 years.
On October 1, 1946, as Betty Jo Craddock, she married Darrell Thompson in Blacksburg, VA. Darrell passed away on July 27, 1991. She late married Bobby Johnson, who also preceded her in death.
Betty Jo is survived by her two sons, Garry Wayne (Martha Droese) Thompson of Galena, IL; David Preston (Betty Jo Allen) Thompson of South Bend, IN; grandchildren, Kevin Wayne (Eva) Thompson; Scott Michael Thompson; Keith Robert Thompson; Mark Patrick (Darcy) Thompson; Derek Preston (Kimberly) Thompson; Bethany Pearl (Timothy) Stauffer; great grandchildren, Benjamin Preston Thompson; Joshua Alan Thompson; Owen Lucas Thompson; Andrew Allen Stauffer; Dylan David Stauffer; Evelyn Marie Thompson; Maryann Hickman; Michael Thompson; Andrew Thompson; Dalton Thompson; Victoria Thompson; Mark Domingo; great-great grandchildren, Stevie Hickman; Andrew Hickman; Brooklyn Hickman; Gavin Domingo; and one sister, Julia Kay Bowyer of Beckley, WV.
She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ, more recently a member of the Niles Church of Christ in Niles Michigan. Betty Jo was the family genealogist.
