Betty Jo Bast, 87
Okeechobee – Betty Jo Bast died on January 26, 2021. She was born March 4, 1933, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Woodrow and Josephine (Sutton) Evans. A resident of Okeechobee for 46 years, she was a member of More 2 Life Ministries. She worked for the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office for many years. She and her husband, Butch, were the founders of Butch’s Fish Camp. She enjoyed genealogy and was involved with the Genealogy Society.
Mrs. Bast was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Butch Bast; and son, Terry Bast.
She is survived by her sons, Michael “Mickey” Bast (Linda) and Timmy Bast (Regina), all of Okeechobee; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
