Ms. Betty Jene Pemberton was born in Richmond County, North Carolina, on April 9, 1940, to the late Thomas Pemberton Jr. and Sallie Mae Pemberton. On Sunday, May 15, 2022, God sent his angels to Ms. Betty Jene Pemberton’s bedside at Abbotts Creek Center in Lexington, North Carolina, to accompany her “Home” to her God.

Ms. Pemberton is preceded in death by two daughters, Vanella Steele and Jenny Ree Pemberton, as well as a very dedicated daughter-in-law, Mrs. Emma Pemberton.

Ms. Betty “Margie” Pemberton spent most of her life in High Point, North Carolina. She worked as a housekeeper for High Point Hospital, Radisson Hotel, and Atrium Furniture Mall in her early years. Ms. Pemberton retired after more than 40 years of service.

Betty “KUDA” Pemberton was a loyal member of Living Water Baptist Church. Sister Pemberton was a member of both the women’s and inspirational choirs, and you can guarantee she sang. She treasured the time she spent with her family and friends. Margie was the life of the party, making sure everyone was happy and loved. Her greatest strength was her desire to give back to the community. Her favorite activity was motivating children of all ages, particularly teenagers. She was preaching the word of God when she wasn’t watching TV or putting together puzzles. She was an incredible woman of God.

She leaves to cherish her sons Jodie Lee Pemberton, Henry Dee Pemberton of High Point, NC, Granddaughters La’Sheika Burton and Tra’niece Wilson, Great granddaughters Khalyn Burton-Brown and Khasyn Burton-Brown of the home. Granddaughter Shanika Bailey, Grandson Justin Buchanan, Derick Greeson, Henry Pemberton Jr. of High Point. Great grandchildren Jaylan Walls, Tashja Walls, Jayier Kinsler, I’mari Pemberton, Shania Greeson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
