Betty was born June 27, 1928, to Elmer W. Powers and Leona Bell Vanderhoof Powers in Marmot, Oregon. She was the second of three girls. Betty passed away on May 17, 2014, in Nampa. She grew up on the Oregon and Washington coast mainly around Tacoma, Washington.
Betty married Robert Tatro on July 25, 1955 and they moved to Idaho in 1964. She enjoyed gardening, canning and living on the farm in rural Nampa. She worked as a nursing assistant at Mercy Medical Center for several years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, her sisters Mae McCallister and Donna Emmerich, and three step children, Roberta Estep, David Tatro and Sheryl Gange.
She is survived by her daughters Phyllis (Clark) Kafton of Nevada and Linda (Raul) Gameros of California; her sons James Tatro of Nampa and Bryan Tatro of Nampa. She has multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren in Nevada, California and Idaho.
