Betty Jean Cheeseman, 89, of Freeport died surrounded by her daughters on Saturday, August 17, 2013, at Presence St. Joseph Center in Freeport. Born March 13, 1924, in Freeport, she was the daughter of George and Vivian (Atchison) Black.

She married Stanton Kreger, on August 26, 1944, who preceded her in death in 1945 while serving in the Army in Germany. On August 3, 1946, she married Eugene R. Cheeseman who preceded her in death in December 1984. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family. During her working career, Betty held her real estate license and worked at the Freeport Medical Clinic and the Freeport Clinic for 26 years.

Surviving are four daughters, Crystal (John) Porter of Fort Atkinson, WI, Melody (Richard) Hallberg of Rockford, Heather (David) Marcum of Cedarville, and Jan Davis of MI; eight grandchildren Nichole (Pete) Roling-Bachman, Courtney (Craig) Warren, Joseph Roling, Tamara (Jimmy) Walters, Jaclyn (Arron) Hendricks, Nathan (Dawn) Dale, Bradley (Heidi) Marcum, Jessica Dale; fourteen great-grandchildren, Kaitlynne Roling, Trent, Samuel, and Jordyn Bachman, Chance and Colton Warren, Braedon, Peyton and Shamar Pierce, Gavin and Keeley Hendricks, Addison, Ivy, and Brixen Dale and Trent Strohecker; loving sister Margaret Erwin of Midlothian, TX; and half-brothers Les and Roger Black.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
