She married Ruben David Bischoff in 1967 and the next year they moved to Boise, Idaho.

Betty married Walter Mifflin, whom she had known from her time in Southern Illinois, in June of 1991, in Boise.  They divided their time between Boise and his home in Glen Ellyn, Illinois during most of their marriage.

While in Idaho Falls, Betty worked as an advertising agent for the Idaho Falls Post Register.  She was also active in the Girl Scouts there, being a troop leader and a trainer of troop leaders.  She also did the same Girl Scout work as troop leader and trainer in Boise after she moved here.  In Idaho Falls, she was involved in helping organize and start the Girl Scout Camp Tamanawis, Northeast of town.
