Betty Jane Lynn, 90, of Jacksonville, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2012, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law.

She was born June 12, 1922, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Arthur and Edith A. Nortrup Denney. She married William E. Lynn on June 12, 1943, in Jacksonville and he survives.

She is also survived by one son, Mark E. (wife, Linda K.) Lynn of Jacksonville; four grandchildren, Robert Lynn (fiancé Allyssa VanMeter) of Jacksonville, David (wife, Becky) White of Chandler, AZ, and Laura White and Sarah (husband, B.J.) Garman, both of Jacksonville; eight great-grandchildren; and two nieces, Sue (husband, Gene) Singley and Sharon Bernshausen, both of Pekin. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Helen Morgan.

Mrs. Lynn was a 1940 graduate of Jacksonville High School. She worked as an administrative assistant at Illinois College for several years. She then worked at the Nichols Park Golf Course where her husband, Bill, was the Club Pro. She and Bill also owned and operated the New Venture Antique Store. Betty enjoyed her pets and working in her yard.
