Betty W. Hembree, age 83, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Watercrest Senior Living in Newnan, GA. Betty was born August 5, 1937 in Atlanta, GA to the late Marvin and Lillian Christian Wilbanks. Betty graduated from West Fulton High School in 1955. She had a successful career with the Federal Government, working at Dobbins Air Force Base and Lockhead. She was a resident of Smyrna, GA for sixty years. Betty is a member of Vinings First Baptist Church in Smyrna. Along with her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband, James Donald Hembree; daughter, Donna Hembree Young and an infant son Donald Jay Hembree. She is survived by her sister, Barbara W. Harris, of Newnan; son-in-law, James Young of Smyrna; nephews, Richard Harris of Newnan, Ken Harris of Greenvill, S.C. and her long-time friend, Sam Miller of Marietta.
