Betty “Sue” Jane Hawkins of Belvidere, NE the daughter of Sarah (Davey) and Merle Williamson and James Bearden was born May 28, 1934 in Hebron, NE. She departed this life Thursday April 22, 2010 at her home in Belvidere, NE at the age of 75 years.
She grew up and attended school in Thayer County. She worked many jobs, including Blue Valley Nursing and Care Homes, but always seemed to return to home health. Her love of caring for others continuously called to her.
Betty’s love of others certainly included children. She enjoyed not only the children in her family but also watching the children of Belvidere as they grew. Part of Betty’s love was also shown with her fabulous cooking for which she was so well known.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by, her long time love George Lahners, two sons; Jack Hoover and wife Josephine of London, England, and Bill Hoover of Hammond, IN, two daughters; Cindy (Hoover) Sydow of Seward, NE, and Sandra Blake and husband Frank of Belvidere, NE, grandchildren; Bryan Byczko and wife Vannesa of Hobart, IN, Todd Rusinki and Nikole Streight of Metamora, IL, Tanya Keller and husband Randy of Pleasant Dale, NE, Shayne Sydow of McCool Junction, NE, Amber Wellman and husband Zach of Broken Arrow, OK, and Dusty Blake of Belvidere, NE. Great-grandchildren; Amanda, Lauren, and Thomas Byczko, Zoe and Nadia Streight, Sarah Schumm, and Brendon Keller, Summit Sydow and Temperance Wellman.
Following Betty’s wishes she was cremated.
