Betty Jane “GoGo” Jameson, 84, of Santa Clara, passed away Jan. 23, 2015 in the presence of her loving family. She was born Aug. 16, 1930, to Frank Willard Etheredge and Rosalinda Tafoya Etheredge in Santa Rita, N.M. She was employed by Mountain Bell Telephone Company as a telephone operator for several years. She also worked as a meat wrapper for Furr’s grocery store for more than 24 years until a respiratory impairment forced her to retire.
She was a strong believer in union causes, and was a retired member of the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union (UFCW). Those who knew her will always remember her loving and compassionate heart. Her home was always a safe and loving environment for others who were in need of shelter or a warm meal. Her generosity, love, and kindness for others will always be remembered.
She is survived by her sons, Rocky C. Lock of Santa Clara and Ty Jameson of Albuquerque; and daughter, Barbara “Bobbi” Jameson,and husband, Charlie, of Hurley. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Ann Gillespie of Silver City; grandchildren, John “Stacy” Ross of Brighton,IL., Shelli Allison and husband, Paul, of Silver City, Shane Jameson of Hurley, Regan S. Aguirre Jr. and wife, Faythe, of Silver City, and Brawn R. Aguirre and wife, Danielle, also of Silver City; 13 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
