Betty Jane Grossnickle, 83, of Taneytown, died on Monday, December 20, 2021 at Lorien Taneytown. Born March 8, 1938 in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin Black, Sr. and the late Alice Virginia (Hossler) Black.
Betty worked for many years at the Hartz Clothing Company in Frederick, eventually retiring from there.
Surviving are special niece, Lisa Hemler and husband Joe of Taneytown; brother, Elmer Black and wife Mary of Taneytown; and many other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her young son, Michael Robert Grossnickle; and siblings, Nancy Lescalleet, Anna Mae Burdette, Helen Utz, Dorothy Boone, John Black, Sr., Benjamin Black, Jr., and Harry Black.
