On Saturday morning, May 9, 2015 at 7:00 o’clock a.m. God dispatched one of His Angels to 1463 Morgan Street in Moulton, Alabama to bring one of His precious children home. The Master called and Betty answered. He gently took her hand and whispered it’s time my child and she followed.
Betty Joann Whitson Young was born April 23, 1952 to the late Paul Davis and Sue Bertha McDaniel. She grew up in the household of her grandparents, the late Dock and Susie Whitson. They adored those three children. They referred to their grandparents as Dad Dock and Susi.
She accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Oakville M. B. Church under the Reverend Willie Walton.
Betty attended Moulton High School. She was an employee of the Moulton Health Care Center. She was a very quiet person. She was loving and caring and would help anybody.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, 2 sisters, Barbara Gail Griffin and Winnie Sue Orr, 4 brothers, Larry McDaniel, Ronald, Donald and Stevie Whitson.,
Her precious memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her and will forever live in the heart of her devoted husband, Ricky Young; five brothers, Willie B. Sheppard (Sadie) of Courtland, Michael, Reggie and Ward (Tammy) Whitson of Cleveland OH, and Benny Ray Whitson of Las Vegas, NV; five sisters, Odessa Reedus of Cleveland, OH, Betty Carol Rivers of Detroit, MI, Barbara Givens of Nashville, TN, Stella Mason of Flint, and Ann Wadell of Decatur; one sister-in-law, Rose McDaniel of Decatur; one brother-in-law, Prentiss Orr of Moulton, and a special great niece who she adored as her own Kesha Sellers and her daughter, Amonyi; and many other relatives and friends. Betty will be missed by all.
