Betty J. Moczek Weingart, age 88, of Salem, died at 10:45 a.m. Monday, April 28, 2014 at the Affinity Medical Center in Massillon. She was born May 12, 1925 in Canton, Ohio, daughter of the late Louis and Elizabeth (Behrend) Myers. Prior to moving to Salem, Betty worked at the O’Neils Department Store and Gibbs Mfg. in Canton and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Canton. Her first husband, Bernard Edward Moczek, whom she married June 5, 1948, preceded her in death October 23, 1972. Her second husband, Werner Weingart, whom she married January 22, 1979, preceded her in death, February 11, 1994. Two brothers, Elmer Myers and Edward Myers; three sisters, Ida Martin, Grace Wagner and Helen Kuemerle; stepson, James Weingart; and four stepdaughters, Wanda Julian, Jean Krepps, Elsie Myers and Shirley Phillips also preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter, Pamela Bailey of Massillon, Ohio; two grandsons, Joey Lunsford of Massillon and Brian Lunsford of Canton; two great-grandchildren; a stepson, Larry (Pat) Weingart of Columbiana; four stepdaughters, Linda (Sam) Brutz, Karen (Sam) Ozenghar all of Salem, Gloria (William) Hum of Poland and Delores Richard of Chattanooga, Tennessee; and many step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and step great-great-grandchildren.
