Betty J. Dyche, age 91, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at the Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville, Kentucky. Betty was born on February 21, 1924, in Rensselaer, Ind., the daughter of the late Herbert and Anna (Stein) Barnes. Betty was raised in Rensselaer, graduating from Rensselaer High School. She moved to New Mexico, where she lived for 30 years before returning to Rensselaer in 1977. Betty later moved to Kentucky to be near her daughters.
On February 2, 1945, in Rockford, Illinois Betty married Earl Dyche who passed away in 1963.
From 1945 – 1963 she was the co-owner and sales clerk at Circle D Saddle Shop. While living in New Mexico Betty was employed from 1965-1977 with Walgreen’s. Upon her return to Rensselaer she began work at the former Northway Products where she was employed from 1978-1989. Betty was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Rensselaer.
Surviving are two daughters, Karen Lee Zink, husband Douglas, of Clarkson, Kentucky and Marty Lou Morris, husband Matt, of Leitchfield, Kentucky; 8 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and a brother, John Barnes, of Lafayette, Ind. Betty was also preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Pauline and Wayne Lambert, and her sister-in-law, Virginia Barnes.
