Betty Inez Henning, age 81 of Joelton, TN made her journey home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, September 3, 2022. She was a good Christian woman who loved her family dearly.

She was proceeded in death by her beloved husband – Thomas F. Henning, parents – Dewey Lee Parish and Mary Jane Nowell Parish, granddaughter – Jessie Caroline Henning, brothers – Dewey L. Parish II and Herbert K. Parish, sisters – Wilma Ingram, Draper Johnson, and Christine McCrary.

She is survived by son – Michael T. Henning, daughter-in-law – Polly Henning, Grandchildren – Joshua (Shalona) Henning, Jonathan Henning, Jennifer Henning, and Jenna Henning, and great grandson – David Wade Henning.

Betty was born on December 25, 1940 in French Camp, Mississippi to the late Dewey Lee and Mary Jane Parish.  She graduated from French Camp Academy.  On January 28, 1959 she married her beloved Thomas Henning and moved to Nashville, Tennessee.  They made Nashville, Woodbine and Joelton communities their home for over 60 years.  She took care of her father-in-law, Walter Davis Henning for over 30 years before his death.  A lot of her grandchildren’s favorite memories were time spent in the swimming pool every summer as they were growing up.  They also enjoyed hearing her stories of growing up in French Camp, Mississippi.

All the children that Polly babysat for the past 20 years, lovingly called her Grandma as well.  She loved to be a grandma figure to children.  She loved children and was great at playing with them and making them feel loved as well.  She will be missed by many, but we rejoice that one day, we will see her again in heaven.
