Betty Hunter Rogers of Newnan passed away on November 5, 2021. Betty was born on July 15,1933, in Turin, Georgia, to the late Sidney and Nancy Young Hunter. She graduated from Starr High and was married to Lamon L.Rogers on June 30, 1950. Betty grew up in a farming community and forever cherished those childhood memories of a large extended family. She was employed at Newnan High School for a number of years and is best remembered as the study hall teacher. Many in the community fondly knew her as Aunt Betty and she loved each and every one of them. Betty was a lifelong member of White Oak Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. Her faith and her church were the central part of her life. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Lamon L.Rogers, niece Julie Hunter Marchese, brothers Joe Hunter, J.T. Hunter, John Hunter, and Mutt Hunter and sister Mary Ellen Spearman. She is survived by daughter Martha Rogers, niece Nancy Williams, great niece Rachael (Jeremy) Weiner, brother-in-law Jimmy Rogers, and a multitude of other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
