Betty Helen Sullivan was born Sept. 8, 1939 in Wadley, Ga., to the late Sam McKinney and Marie Grant McKinney.
Betty accepted God early in her life and was baptized at the Brinson Hill Baptist Church in Wadley, Ga.
In July 1957, she moved to Boston, MA., and on April 13, 1959, she married Elmer Sullivan. The couple would be blessed with a lovely daughter, Harriett.
A member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Boston, she was active in the scholarship ministry and the Georgia Club. Betty relocated to McIntosh in January of 1994 and joined the St. Union Baptist Church. She was involved with the Senior Choir and the missionary group.
Betty departed this life Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021, at Wayne General Hospital in Waynesboro, MS.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and brothers, Marcus Grant and Charlie McKinney.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 61 years, Elmer Sullivan; daughter, Harriett (Jock) Luckett of Fort Worth, TX; two grandchildren, Rashad Luckett and Bryson Luckett; sister, Mary McKinney of Missouri City, Tx; brother-in-law, Alphonso Sullivan; with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
