Betty died Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Heritage of Bel Air.
Betty was born April 9, 1924 in Howells, NE the daughter of Anton and Anna (Hejny) Herout. She attended school and graduated from Howells Public High School. After graduation, she moved to Fremont, NE and worked at various jobs in Fremont and Omaha.
On October 24, 1944, Betty married Stephen Hruby at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont, NE. The couple farmed in the Scribner and Hooper area until Stephen’s death on July 7, 1959.
Of this marriage, Francis and Judith Hruby were born.
After Stephen’s death, Betty moved to Madison, NE and worked as a bookkeeper at Love Equipment in Madison, and as an inspector at Dale Electronics in Columbus.
On June 18, 1966, Betty married Albert Goodwater at St. Leonard’s Catholic Church in Madison. They farmed northwest of Madison until their retirement in 1995 and moved to Norfolk, NE.
Betty loved playing cards, painting pictures, and making crafts.
Betty is survived by her daughter Judith, of Cheyenne, WY, daughter-in-law Valerie Hruby of Norfolk, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, son Francis Hruby, parents, seven brothers, two sisters and son-in-law Bernard Hackler.
