Betty Jean Drake, 84, of Ellettsville passed away on Friday at IU Health Bloomington Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born July 8, 1927 in Bloomington and was the daughter of Benjamin Andrew and Dorothy Cecelia (Godsey) Hendricks. She retired after 27 years in Housekeeping at Indiana University. Betty was a member of the Pentecostal Faith Assembly, and loved to read and crochet. She loved to be with her family, especially during the holidays.
Betty is survived by her husband of 66 years, Robert F. Drake, two sons, Steve Drake (Faye) of Bloomington and Danny Drake (Mary) of Wisconsin, five grandchildren, Tim Drake (Michele), Tammy Drake, Melinda Hobbs (Kyle), Peggy Rogers (Joe), and Lisa Hein (Scott), nine great grandchildren, Andrew and Terry Ketcham, Kylee and Davis Hobbs, Justin Longfellow, Joe Drake, Kristen, Kasey and Kayla Rogers and one great great granddaughter Vada Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son Timothy Edward Drake, sister Marian (Hendricks) Chaney, and brother Richard (Dick) Hendricks.
