Mrs. Betty DeKoeyer, age 89, of Durham, formerly of Milford, wife of the late James DeKoeyer, passed away Wednesday October 28, 2009 at Twin Maples Health Care in Durham. Born in Elysburg, PA on February 17, 1920 she was the daughter of the late Josiah and Edith Runkle Rhoades.
Betty was a waitress at the former Conti’s Restaurant in Milford and an inspector at Avco Lycoming in Stratford. She loved traveling across country with her sister Peg and her late husband Jim in their RV and known to CBer’s as “Betty Boop”
Survivors include her fiancé Anthony Silvestro of Stratford; three beloved children, James H. DeKoeyer of Northford, Robert DeKoeyer and his wife Bonnie of Cheshire Cheryl DeKoeyer Andros and her husband David of Derby; Three cherished grandchildren James DeKoeyer Jr. and his wife Beth of Durham, Natalie Elyse Andros and Caitlin Lee Andros both of Derby; Three great grandchildren, Matthew, Christopher and Daniel DeKoeyer all of Durham. Predeceased by a brother and two sisters.
