DURHAM- Mrs. Betty Daniels Lawrence, 85, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Duke University Hospital.
Mrs. Lawrence was born April 6, 1933 to the late Wiley and Mamie Daniels in Durham, NC. A Durham native, she graduated from Durham High School and worked 24 years at Blue Cross and Blue Shield before retiring. Mrs. Lawrence was a former member of Angier Avenue Baptist Church and a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. She sang in the choir for many years at both churches and was a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class as well as the Joy Club at Ridgecrest Baptist Church. She cherished her Thursday morning Bible Study at Northgate Chapel. Mrs. Lawrence will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.
Mrs. Lawrence is preceded in death by her parents, Wiley and Mamie Daniels and her daughter, Sheila Lawrence.
Mrs. Lawrence is survived by her husband Robert “Bobby” Lawrence; son, Jeffrey Scott Lawrence (Carolyn); daughter, Suzanne Shields (Eric); sister, Doris Rasberry (Phillip); grandchildren, Kaitlan Lawrence, Skyler Shields and Paige Shields as well as several nieces and nephews whom she loved and adored.
