Betty (DiFrancesco) Lukasiewski, 98, of New Britain, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2014. She was the beloved wife of the late Stephen Lukasiewski, Sr. Born in Hartford, she was a lifelong resident of New Britain. Betty retired from American Bazaar in New Britain as a seamstress, and enjoyed knitting, sewing and she loved to cook. She also was an avid Bingo and card player. A loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she leaves her son Stephen Lukasiewski, Jr., of Rocky Hill; her two grandchildren, Jason and his wife Emily, and great granddaughter Sadie, all of Newington, and Keith and his fiancée Katharine Healy of Niantic. She also leaves her brother Raymond D. DiFrancesco and his wife Ann of Plainville, two sisters Gilda Vedovelli of Newington and Julie Rio of East Haddam, and sister-in-law Ceil DiFrancesco of Plainville; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Louis “Bobo” DiFrancesco, Mary Maiorani, Ann Dorbuck, and Viola Gronowski.
