Betty Besch, age 77, of LuVerne, went to be with the Lord on January 10, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center of North Iowa in Mason City. Betty was united in marriage on June 22, 1996 to Francis Besch at the United Methodist Church in LuVerne.

She had worked as a health care provider, owner and operator of the Chatter Platter in LuVerne from 1997 – 2005 and she was currently managing her farm at the time of her death. Betty was a member of the United Methodist Church in LuVerne where she had served on the church circle.

She also had been a member of the Red Hat Ladies and the Eastern Star. Betty enjoyed fishing, farming, gardening, making tie blankets, reading and spending time with her grandchildren. Left to cherish Betty’s memory are her children, Judy Bennett of Mason City, Catherine Tinney of Britt, Shelby Thornton and her husband Damian of Clare, Barbara Casey and her husband Michael of LuVerne, Jolena Carmichael of Williamsburg, VA, Steven Johnson and his wife Robin of Cameron, MO, Stevanie Cypert of Dallas, TX and Paul Johnson and his wife Angela of Algona; 33 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; a sister, Barbara Howard of Hampton, VA; and 3 brothers, Louie Pucci, Jimmy Pucci and Tommy Pucci of Hampton, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Francis Besch in 2007; a son, William Carmichael; grandchildren, Raymond Jones, Katelynn and Amanda Grace Fillingim and Jeremiah Cobb; and a brother, Charles Marrs.
