Betty Bennett Canady, 88, of Newnan passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Ansley Park Health & Rehabilitation. Betty was born November 12, 1932 in Sargent, GA to the late Bass Bennett & Zela Jones Bennett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 43 years, Harold Canady. Betty grew up in Hogansville where she was a gifted basketball player at Hogansville High School. She was recruited to play professional basketball for several teams but she fell in love with Harold Canady and decided against a basketball career. Betty began her 44 year career at Playtex sweeping floors and retired as the Plant Manager. After her retirement, Playtex called her back into service to open two of their international plants in the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.
