Betty A. Baker, 89, recently of Nampa, Idaho, and a longtime resident of Sun River, MT died of natural causes on Friday, November 9th at a local care facility.

Betty was born June 9, 1923 in Great Falls to John and Ernestine Largent. She attended schools in the valley and completed college to become a teacher. Betty taught for a few years before becoming a full time homemaker. She worked with the love of her life, Walter, on the family farm and also worked at the LMH Co. in Great Falls. She served as treasurer of the Sun River Methodist Church for many years.

Betty met her future husband, Walter, when she asked him to fix her car. They married on March 5, 1945, in Helena. Betty was an expert seamstress and was always cooking up something wonderful to eat. She made the most amazing caramels.

Betty’s greatest love of her life was Walter. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend. She loved her life on the family farm , but her greatest joy was raising her kids in Sun River. She will always be remembered for her kindness, grace and dimples.

Betty is survived by her four children, Bob (Kay) Baker of Caldwell, Idaho, Gary (Ann) Baker of Marysville, Montana, Nancy (Dean) Linn of Great Falls, Montana, and Pam (Jim) VonLintel of Oracle, Arizona, as well as 10 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter.
