Mrs. Betty June Laird Austin, age 81, formerly of Newnan, died June 14, 2007 in Savannah, Georgia. A native of, Oklahoma, she was born June 15, 1925. Mrs. Austin was the widow of the late John Nathaniel “Nat” Austin III of Newnan. She was also preceded in death by a son, John Nathaniel Austin IV. She is survived by her children, Junie Austin Merkle and her husband Vincent, Jennifer Austin Beker and her husband Herschel and Jo Austin Teasley. Her grandchildren are Meredith Beker, Jonathan Beker, Benjamin Beker, and Maggie Beker; and dear friend Judy Shook.
