Betty Ann Dakan peacefully passed on Saturday June 26, 2010 at her home in Caldwell.
Betty Ann Dakan was born on December 30, 1943 in Phoenix, AZ to Thelma Cozene Taylor and Eugene Taylor. She never got to meet her father, until now, because he was killed during WWII. She was raised by her mother and her aunt Carrie in Phoenix, AZ. They moved around the northwest, living with many aunts until finding a home in the Treasure Valley.
Betty Ann graduated from Caldwell High and attended BJC. She met Jim Dakan on her birthday in 1963 on Brundage Mountain. They married on April 11th 1964 in Caldwell. They raised three wonderful children; Shannon, Rich and Heather. She worked as a dental assistant in Caldwell, until they moved to Phoenix AZ.
Betty loved to travel.
She is survived by her loving and caring husband Jim Dakan of Caldwell; her daughters Shannon Dakan and Heather Dakan, and her son Rich (Melinda) Dakan, and four grandchildren Shawnie Dakan, Lane LaCrone, Carleigh LaCrone and Taylor Dakan.
Mom/ Nana you will be missed dearly and always loved but you are flying with the angels and your Mom now. “Ahuihou” which means “see ya later.”
