Betty Ann Chambers, 90, of Meredosia, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, at Jacksonville Skilled Nursing & Rehab.

She was born Oct. 5, 1927, in Pike County near Perry, the daughter of Beal and Daisy DeWitt Ham. She married Robert R. Chambers on Dec. 24, 1946, in Chambersburg, and he preceded her in death.

She is survived by one son Ronald (Cheryl) Chambers of Cooper City, FL; a great granddaughter raised in her home, Brittany Chambers of Meredosia; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

Betty had been a member of the Meredosia United Methodist Church and more recently attended Chambersburg Christian Church. She was a past Worthy Matron of Trinity Chapter #636 O.E.S., Past President of Meredosia American Legion Post #516 Auxiliary, a member of Cornelia Chapter #791 O.E.S. in Perry, and served as both an EMT and financial secretary of the Meredosia Rescue Squad. Betty had also served as Secretary for the Meredosia Chambersburg PTA and had been a Trustee at Passavant Area Hospital. She especially enjoyed knitting and sewing.
