Bette J. Sedall, 87, passed away August 28, 2021 at Arborwood Lodge in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.
Bette was born November 28, 1933 in Sigel, Wisconsin to Roy and Frances (VanLysal) Oleson.
She married Don Sedall on August 8, 1951 in Sigel, Wisconsin at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Bette worked for a time at Procter and Gamble in Chicago, Illinois and retired from Nekoosa Edwards Paper Co.
Bette enjoyed giving the gift of her time. After her retirement she became a member of the Riverview Hospital Auxiliary where she was a volunteer for 19 years. Bette also volunteered at the Lowell Center for a number of years. She was a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Rudolph, Tri City Ladies Golf, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 442 in Nekoosa and a member of the PCCW at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Her hobbies included Sudoku, crossword puzzles, golf, bowling and playing cards. She loved all sports and enjoyed attending the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters baseball games and cheering for the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers. Bette loved to cook and bake and was always ready for a party, enjoying good times and family celebrations. She treasured time spent with grandchildren as they were her pride and joy. She always made time to attend events that were important to them. She also loved spending time with her previous grandpups Rusty and Riley, newest addition Finn, and her beloved Wubbzy.
Bette and Don enjoyed 70 years together and the 26 winters they spent in Mesa, Arizona where they made many life-long friends.
Bette is survived by one daughter, Sally (Jim) Gardapee of Plymouth, Wisconsin; sons: Richard (Rhonda) of Wisconsin Rapids, Bruce of Chalfont, Pennsylvania, and Brian of Wisconsin Rapids; grandchildren Kristofer (Clare) Zimmerman, Stacey Groll (Chris McDonell), Luke (Lindsey) Sedall, Katie (Joe) Seubert, Matthew Sedall, Andrew Sedall, Jenny (Travis) Primeau, and Tyler Sedall; great grandchildren Kayleigh Zimmerman, Callum Zimmerman, Bryanna Groll, Kenna Seubert, Jada Seubert, and Hunter Primeau. She is further survived by one brother David Oleson; brothers-in-law James (Linda) Sedall, Jerome (Linda) Sedall, James (Barb) Brehm; sister-in-law Jeanette Baltus and many nieces and nephews.
Bette was predeceased by her husband Don (July 24, 2021); her parents; grandson Erik Zimmerman; son-in-law Ron Zimmerman; sister Margaret Gaber; brothers Donald Oleson, Ray Oleson, and Richard Oleson; sisters-in-law Marie Brehm, Rhita Oleson, Fran Oleson, and Mary Sedall; brothers-in-law Edward Sedall, Art Gaber, and James Baltus.
The family would like to thank the Arborwood Lodge staff, Aspirus Hospice team, and Aspirus Wisconsin Rapids and Wausau Hospitals physicians and staff for their kindness and compassion.
