Bette Jean O’Loughlin, 82, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at LCC of Valley View in Boise of Alzheimer’s.  Bette was born on April 17, 1931 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Kendel Vincent and Jean Salminen Vincent.  She attended SLC schools and graduated from Wasatch Academy.

Most of all, Bette loved being a stay-at-home mom while raising her children.  She would do anything for her children and she created a home full of laughter and love.  She sewed all their clothes, canned all the vegetables, and baked bread weekly.  She supported them in Little League, Boy Scouts, Optimist football, and ballet.

All the neighborhood kids enjoyed her cookies and revolving door. Raising five boys, Bette endured their scuffles and laughed at their pranks.  She sniffled proudly at her daughter’s dance recitals.  Bette lovingly waited hand and foot on her family and when she became incapacitated with Alzheimer’s requiring full time nursing care, she was waited on hand and foot, her every need met.

Bette is survived by her children, Scott, Michael, Steven (Leslie), Tamira, Timothy (Lynette), several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son Kendall, her brother Willis, her parents, and former husband Rex.

The family is grateful to LCC of Valley View for taking such wonderful care of “our mom”.
