Bethany Ann Burns, a long time resident of New Lothrop, died on February 9, 2024 after a prolonged illness. She was 72 years old.Born on October 30, 1951, she was the youngest and only daughter of Robert L. Beebe and Doris L. (Dyball) Beebe. Beth grew up in Flushing, where she was a 1969 graduate of Flushing High School. Beth was a beacon of love and compassion in the lives of everyone she touched. She attended Ferris State University and went on to work in human resources across various institutions. She was a loving wife to Jerry Burns, whom she married on March 13, 1971, at the Flushing United Methodist Church.Beth was a champion for the misunderstood, providing thoughtful counsel to those in need and spreading love freely to all. Her role as a mother and grandmother was paramount, and she extended her affectionate care to many, adopting everyone, animals and people alike. She was affectionately known as Bethy, mother, mommy, mom, nana and Mama Burns to many. A dedicated member of the VFW Post 6579 Auxiliary in New Lothrop, she was a vibrant part of her community.Beth was also a passionate crafter and painter, and she relished in the joy of riding behind Jerry on their motorcycle throughout the United States. Her bike trips to Daytona, Myrtle Beach, and Sturgis, South Dakota, remain treasured memories. Most of all, Beth cherished time spent with her family.In addition to Jerry, her beloved husband of over fifty-two years, she is leaves her children, Jerry R.J. (Keri) Burns, Joshua (Theresa) Burns, Kimberly (Duane) Bowns, Kelly (Justin) Holloway; grandchildren, Liam and Zoe Burns, Blake and Brooklyn Bowns, and Alyssa Holloway; brothers, Bruce (Patricia) Beebe, Ron (Gaye) Beebe, and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
