Beth Neeley Cherry was born December 19, 1923 to Clarence and Hattie (Shumway) Neeley, in Lewiston, Idaho, the third of six children. The family eventually moved to Cornish, Utah where they farmed.
Beth married Cecil Alloy Cherry, a pilot in the Air Force, in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple on July 5, 1944. After the war, they first made their home in Hyde Park, Utah, and then Preston, Idaho.
In 1950, they moved to the Black Canyon Irrigation District north of Caldwell, Idaho where they built a farm out of the sage brush.
Beth passed away Saturday, October 9, 2010, after a short two day stay at St. Luke’s in Meridian. She is survived by her sons, Kim (Kay) of Star, ID, Ryan of Sandy, UT, Quinn of Vancouver, WA, Brent (Sandy) of Franklin, TN; a daughter, LaNae Cherry of Meridian, ID; 18 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil; her daughter, Sharlene Peterson; and all her brothers and sisters.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to her “family” at Grace Assisted Living, and especially to the staff and care givers there that made her last years so full and enjoyable.
