Left to cherish her memory are Brothers and Sisters Ellen Hinkle, Tom (Ginny) Hinkle, Miles Hinkle, Donna (Greg) Wolfe, and Brian Hinkle; Neices and Nephews Orion Hinkle, Brandon, Erin, Josh, and Adam Hinkle, Kai and Tess Wolfe; Great Neices Madison Rose and Sophia Danielle Hinkle; Aunts and Uncle Joe & Alice Hinkle and Sybil Hinkle; and many cousins. Beth’s first two decades were spent in Columbus, Ohio. She attended St. Joseph’s Academy for 8 years and St. Mary of the Springs Academy for High School.  When the family moved to Anaheim, California, she attended the University of Hawaii and the Control Data Institute. Beth was a part of the pioneering, early wave of women in the world of computers and technology. She was a senior level systems analyst at Pensick and Gordon and an IT Manager.  Later she worked at B Dalton Bookstore as manager of software. She was Regional Manager in the Los Angeles area. Beth continued to work in the field of technology on various contacts. Her work and her curiosity took her to Colorado, Arizona, and Oregon. A force which, to a degree, shaped Beth’s life was Cancer. While in her early 20’s she developed throat cancer. She courageously fought this battle throughout her lifetime. Initially, she elected surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, psychological therapy, and alternative medicines. They saved her life. Later, the effects of these interventions caused her great difficulty in speaking, eating, swallowing and breathing. She relied on a feeding tube for several years. Nevertheless, Brave Beth carried on. She traveled and tried to keep a positive outlook. Beth was an accomplished gourmet cook and baker. She loved the arts. She read voraciously. She belonged to the Mensa Society and Toastmasters. Beth loved her dogs Muffet, Nakita, Lilly and Sweetie Pie. She loved her horses, too. Beth was a very spiritual person. She was kind-hearted and she loved so many things and people in life. Shy, sweet, thoughtful Beth! We were each touched by your love. We love you and we will always remember you.
