Bessie L. Penrod Elliott, 75, Anderson, died November 20, 2005 at St. Johns Health System, Anderson Indiana after an extended illness. She was born December 13, 1929 and was a lifelong Anderson resident. She retired from Guide Lamp Division of General Motors after 34 years of service. She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren. She was a member of Cornerstone Ministries.
She was also a member of the UAW Local #663. She is survived by her five children, George Roberts and special friend Wilma Occhi of Rapid City, South Dakota, Norma Skirvin, Walter ”Butch” Roberts, Edith Porter and Wayne and wife Jayleen Roberts all of Anderson; brother, Loran Penrod of Anderson; sister, Patricia Leisure of Anderson; sisters-in-law, Viola Penrod of Anderson and Margarite Penrod of Florida; grandchildren, Johnathan Occhi, Amy Watson, Jerry Occhi, Robert ”Buck” Skirvin, Anthony Skirvin, Jeremy Skirvin, Patricia ”Shelly” Skirvin, Jason Roberts, Misty Zachary, Craig Roberts, Chase Roberts, Richard Roberts, Amanda Porter, Peggy Jo Porter, Ashley Buntin, Wayne Lee Roberts, Amy Roberts, Jessica Roberts, Stephanie Roberts and Sarah Roberts; fifteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews; and her family at Cornerstone Ministries.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Ethel Williams Penrod; step-father, Farrell Fox; and three brothers, Walter Penrod, John ”J.C.” Penrod and Ernie Penrod.
