The community of Delaware (Osgood area) Indiana, lost a very special lady. Bessie Ella-Vene Schutte, age 90, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2016 at the Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood. The daughter of the late James Louis and Ella Mae Wilson Lanham was born on December 23, 1925 in Jefferson County, Indiana. In 1940 she graduated from Central High School of Madison, Indiana. She married Gilbert Paul Schutte on July 3, 1945, and three sons were born to this union. She was a very loving wife and mother who ran a tight ship! Her sons knew that they did not need to wait for their dad to get home if any disciplining was needed! From the late 1970’s to the middle 1980’s, she worked for Meyers Hardware in Milan, IN. A very proud member of the Republican party,Bessie had been seen over the many years working on the election board for Delaware Township.
