Bessie D. Sowles, age 95 of Midland died in peace with her Lord Monday, December 31, 2012, at the MidMichigan Medical Center. The daughter of the late Thomas and Anna ( Kabza) Drobena was born on April 28, 1917, in Copemish, MI where she was raised and educated. Bessie moved to the Midland area in the early 1950s and worked at the Midland Hospital in Food Service until her retirement in the 1970s. Bessie was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. Her true joy was being with her children and grandchildren. Her greatest gift to her entire family was her never-ending love and dedication which we will miss and always remember.
Bessie is survived by her son Walter T. (Lori) Sowles of Katy, Texas, her daughter Judith (John) Sirrine of Midland, and son-in-law Raymond Loose. She was predeceased by her daughter Marjorie Loose. She will be greatly missed by grandchildren: Brenda (Dave) Heinritz, Laura (Jerry) Black, Randy (Sharon) Loose, Julie (Doug) Pnacek, Marty (Jennifer) Sirrine, Maria (Kenneth) White, eleven great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by one grandson, Jimmy Loose. Bessie is also survived by her brothers: George Drobena, Paul Drobena, James Drobena, and her sister Elizabeth Schuler. She was predeceased by brothers John Drobena, Milton Drobena, J. Richard Drobena, and sisters Anna McCormick and Kate Ashcraft.
