Sylvestra Anita “Bessie” Cruz Sanchez, 54, of Boerne passed away suddenly on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 in Teresa Ramírez La Purísima, Pedro Escobedo, Queretaro Mexico.
Sylvestra Anita Sanchez was born December 16, 1964 to Juan and Jovita Sanchez. Everyone knew her as Bessie, and she was a woman like no other. She always had a positive attitude and a beautiful bright light that lit up a room everywhere she went. She was a very giving and spiritual individual who looked at other people’s needs before her own. Always willing to give a helping hand when needed, she was loved dearly and leaves a legacy of unselfish love which was proven by the undying love and care she gave to her family.
Bessie was married to Tomas Cruz at the age of 14. After her six children were born, at 22 she chose to continue her education, receiving her GED in her hometown of Boerne. She worked with Valero for over ten years. Bessie was truly an unselfish person, always giving the best of everything. She had a heart of gold that was always there for you no matter the time of day. Her cup runneth over to many. Her most prized possessions were her children and her grandchildren but for sure grandchildren got whatever they wanted. She took on many roles, from friend to mother and grandmother and great-grandmother, to so many, including her Valero friends.
Bessie is survived by her children, Theresa Morales (Hilario), Martina Cruz (Leon Martinez), Rebecca Ramirez (Delfino), Gillerma Perez (Eduardo), Maurilia Anthony (Sean), and Tomas Cruz Jr. (Tracy Davis); her sister,Victoria Trejo (Candelario); her brother-in-law, Luis Alamilla; 31 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by father of her children, Tomas Jaramillo Cruz; her mother, Jovita M. Sanchez; her father, Juan Sanchez, her sister, Guadalupe Alamilla; and her aunt, Bessie Sanchez Juarez.
The family would like to express their gratitude to all her family and friends, and to all the coordinators, especially the Perez family in Mexico, and everyone else involved in getting Bessie home. Thank you all for your kind words and prayers.
