Beryl May Williams passed away on Friday August 18, 2017 at the age of 90. She resided at Asbury Nursing Home, Wilson Building in Gaithersburg Maryland, since 2015.

Beryl Williams was born March 8, 1927 in Jamaica, West Indies, parish of St Catherine to George and Myrtle Baker. In 1956 she married Sylvester S.Williams (deceased) in Jamaica, where they had two daughters Andrea and Rosie. Beryl migrated to the United States in the mid 1960’s, followed shortly by her husband and two daughters. They resided in Bronx, New York.

While in New York Beryl worked as a Nurses Aid at the Hospital for Joints Diseases for 25 years. She enjoyed traveling within the States and abroad with her friends and family. For many special occasions, birthday and holidays Beryl enjoyed cooking and baking her delicious banana bread. She loved entertaining and made everyone feel comfortable.
Beryl retired in the mid 80’s and dedicated her life to taking care of her grand children Natasha, Copeland and Nigel.

Beryl moved from Bronx, New York in August 1993 to Gaithersburg Maryland. She loved her God and church and became an active member of First AME Church of Gaithersburg. Beryl joined the church school, Dolly D Adams Missionary Society, Golden Gems and the Lay Organization.

Beryl Williams leaves to celebrate her life her daughters Andrea Gordon and Rosena Williams. Son-in-law Copeland (Don) Gordon, grandchildren Natasha Addison, Copeland Gordon, Nigel Gordon and great granddaughter Layla J. Oney. Others family members, Aunt Gladys Anderson, numerous nieces and nephews in the United States and England all of whom she shared her love.

Beryl was predeceased in death by siblings Daphne Russell, Radcliffe Baker, Lloyd Baker, Frank Baker and Hyacinth Cole.

Beryl’s warm hearted personality touched a great number of people who will miss her greatly and will live on in their hearts.
