Berthe Sefuku Cameron, 54, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 2:24 p.m. Sunday, January 17, 2021 in Memorial Hospital of South Bend, due to Covid-19.
She was born on August 25, 1966 to Pastor Issachar Sefuku and Adele (Kangabe) Sefuku in Rwanda, Central Africa, and has lived in South Bend since 1989.
Berthe was currently employed at NeuroPsychiatric Hospital in Mishawaka, IN, where she worked as a Nurse. She just recently became a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Prior to that, she worked at Epworth Hospital of South Bend (formerly Madison Center).
Berthe is survived by her two children, Amanda Cameron and Bradley Cameron, both of South Bend, IN; two sisters, Vanie (husband Richard) Uwera of Rwanda, Africa; Josiane Martin of Rock Hill, SC; three brothers, Gerard Sefuku of South Bend, IN; Emmanuel Hafashimana of Rwanda, Africa; Edward Ngabo (wife Philo) Sefuku of Hamilton, Canada; a nephew who is like a brother, Charles Sefuku of Bowling Green, KY; and several nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Pastor Issacher Sefuku in 1994; her mother, Adele Sefuku on November 25, 2020; and a brother-in-law, Lee Martin on October 10, 2020.
Berthe was a member of Praise Fellowship SDA Church in South Bend, IN. She loved gardening, reading, and traveling. Berthe was a person of faith. She was very caring, had a big heart, enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and always put others before herself. Berthe was intelligent, diligent, and determined, and always inspired others to do their best. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and co-workers.
