Bertha Mae Pape, 90, passed away on May 18, 2011, in Boerne, TX. She was born in Del Rio, TX on March 16, 1921, to Walter D. and Bertha Dolly Blackburn O”Bryant. She grew up in Sanderson, TX and worked at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio for a few years. In 1939, she married Paul E. Pape and lived in Devine and Center Point, TX, until his death in 1990. Her parents, sister, Marybelle Caraway, brothers, W. D. O”Bryant and Dr. Julian O”Bryant preceded her in death. Surviving her are her sister-in-law, Eloise O”Bryant; nephews, Julian (Pat) O”Bryant, Tim O”Bryant, Kenneth Caraway, Donald Caraway, and C. W. Caraway; nieces, Cynthia Caldwell, Pamela Drake, and Alice Cardner. Bertha Mae loved living in the Hill Country, riding her bicycle, and taking care of her many pets. She will be greatly missed by her family and her dear friends. Memorial gifts may be given to a charity of choice.
