Bertha was born in Sampson County in1923 to the late Chester Stevens and Rosie Boykin Stevens, she is preceded in death by her husband Quincy Lewis, son Charles Edward Lewis and sister Rachel Stevens, Liz Stevens and Pearl Shamley.
