She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Wilbur Carpenter Sr.; her daughter, Sheila Taylor Agwu; stepson Wilbur Carpenter Jr. (who she loved as her own); granddaughter, Shay Taylor; sister, Delores (Benjamin) Daughtery; three nieces; three nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
