May 11, 1924 – August 6, 2018

Bertha L. Moreau passed away in Floresville, Texas on August 6, 2018, at the age of 94 years, 2 months, and 26 days.  During those years of her life, she witnessed many historical events, saw numerous discoveries that were made, and great things that were invented.

Bertha Moreau was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on May 11, 1924, to her parents John and Edna Anderson.  She lived in many places after her birth throughout her childhood and adult life from Louisiana to Oklahoma, to many places in the Texas Hill Country, to San Antonio and surrounding areas and cities.  She performed many chores, tasks, and jobs as a child and adult. Her fondest childhood memories were of playing and climbing trees with her siblings and picking berries for her mother. She later attended nursing school but had to quit as the family moved to Texas.

During World War II, Bertha worked at Camp Bullis in Bexar County, filling ammunition boxes, and met her future husband, Bennie Moreau.  They married on August 25, 1945 in Boerne, Texas.

Bertha is survived by her daughters, Marie and Peggy; her son Bennie (“Junior”); her grandchildren, Debbie, Brenda, David, Dale, and Kenneth; her great-grandchildren, Amber, Harry III, Janelle, Joshua, David, Nicholas, and Christopher; her great-great-grandchildren, Jason, Drew, Aislyn, Annalicia, Alexander, Harry VI, and Ava; her great-great-great-grandchild, Alexander; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bertha is preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Moreau; her parents, John and Edna Anderson; her sisters, Jane, Helen, Annie, Rachel, Doris, and Pauline; her brother Hans; and numerous other relatives.

The family of Bertha L. Moreau would like to thank each and every one of you for your presence and for your kindness, love, support, thoughts and prayers during this difficult and sorrowful time.
