Bertha L. (Chalifoux) “Bert” DeSourdis, 96, died on Monday, January 30, 2023, in Knollwood Nursing Center, West Boylston.
She was born in Worcester on June 11, 1926, and remained a Worcester resident until 1963 when she and her family moved to Millbury.
Her husband of 53 years, Paul L. DeSourdis, died in 2000.
She is survived by a daughter, Elaine M. (DeSourdis) McCool and her husband, Michael R. McCool, of Millbury; four sons: Ronald P. DeSourdis of Worcester, Richard A. DeSourdis and his wife, Marta (MoJica) DeSourdis, of Charlton, Denis L. DeSourdis and his wife, Sheila (Dumphy) DeSourdis, of Holland, and David W. DeSourdis of Worcester. She also leaves two granddaughters: Nicole (DeSourdis) Bonaceto and her husband, Paul Bonaceto, of Hopkinton, and Amira (DeSourdis) Townzen and her husband, Troy Townzen, of San Jose, CA; a step-grandson, Mark Williams of Worcester; four great grandchildren: Declan Bonaceto, Jacob Bonaceto, Charlie Townzen, and Oliver Townzen; a sister-in-law, Judith (Forbes) Chalifoux of Concord, NH; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Loretta A. (Dubois) and P. Homer Chalifoux, and a brother, Homer D. Chalifoux.
Because she wished her family and friends to remember her alive, not dead, she requested that her family honor her memory privately.
