HILLSBOROUGH Mrs. Bertha Estell Johnson Dunn, 93, of Hillsborough, died on Wednesday, May 17, 2017.
Mrs. Dunn was born in Johnston County, the daughter of the late Wiley Johnson and Maggie Spence Johnson. She retired from Duke Power Company after almost 45 years of service. She was a member of the Lions Club and was inducted in NC Hall of Fame for Professional Softball Leagues. She pitched for the Atlanta Georgia Team “Firestone”. She was preceded in death by her husband, James F. (Bus) Dunn; brothers, David, Willard and Josh Johnson and sisters, Daisy Guess, Oliphine Hocutt and Oneita Creech.
She is survived by her nephew, Mark Hocutt; niece, Deborah Johnson and other niece and nephews, Phyllis Sorrell, Danny Creech and Bobby Creech.
