Bertha Belle Seger, age 90, born on June 6, 1915, Southwest of Pond Creek, Oklahoma, died Sunday, September 11, 2005 at Maryville Manor Nursing Home, Maryville, Illinois.

Mrs. Seger attended Linville Country School, District 103, and graduated from Pond Creek High School, Pond Creek, Oklahoma in 1933. She also attended Tonkawa Junior College(now Northern Oklahoma College) Tonkawa, Oklahoma.

Bertha lived in the Pond Creek area most of her entire life, moving to Illinois. She married Howard Clark McKee in February 1958 and he passed away on May 7, 1987. In 1988 she married Ralph James Seger who preceded her in death August 13, 1993. She was also preceded in death by her parents Jasper and Mable (nee:Brigham) Newton, one brother, Leslie Merle, and two infant siblings who died at birth.

Bertha was given the nickname Dovie as a small child. She was a charter member of the Rose Circle Home Demonstration Club, Friends and Neighbors Club, the Sunshine Center, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Pond Creek.

Surviving are her sister, Shirley (Warren) Trekell of Troy, Illinois, nieces, Jeannie Kohler, of Belton, Missouri, Shari (Bryce) Renken of Troy, Illinois, Merlene (Max) Odenwald, of Billings, Oklahoma, Karen (Mike) Dehdari of Flower Mound, Texas, Mary (Jose) Zepeda of Port Arthur, Texas, and one nephew, Reid (Diane) Trekell of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Also eight great nieces and eleven great nephews.
