Bert Joseph Hill, 55, of Galesburg, died at 9:57 p.m. Sunday, April 5, 2015 at home.Bert was born January 6, 1960 in Kewanee, the son of Bert Junior and Sandra Kay (VanDamme) Hill.
Bert graduated from Kewanee High School and DeVry University in 1988. Bert worked for Norris Office Equipment in Monmouth then for Office Specialists for over 30 years as a service technician. He became one of the few bronze certified Sharp Technicians. Bert was an avid guitar player and teacher, teaching many family members and close friends how to play. He once was the opening act for Johnny Cash. Bert also enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, tracking weather and tornadoes, and archery. He once split an arrow with another arrow. Although he would deny it he was a pet lover.Bert is survived by his wife of 25 years, Carol Ann Rosenberry Hill.
They were married April 4, 2000 in Galesburg. His father, Bert J. Hill of North Fort Myers, FL; three sons, Bert Junior Hill, USMC, Camp Pendleton, CA, Timothy Clark Hill and Bradley Louise Hill both of Galesburg; two daughters, Doreen Rouland of Galsburg and Jessica (David) Krause of Willowbrook; and four grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters, Carrie Calhoun of Hanover Park, Trina (Scott) McAllister of Poplar Bluff, MO, and Teresa (John) Newlun of Cuba. He was preceded in death by his mother.
