Berniece L. Slamp 93, of Davis died Thursday December 20, 2007 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport after a brief illness.
Born November 4, 1914 in Spring Grove Township, WI., she was the daughter of Oscar and Elsie (Keller) Zimmerman. After graduating from Davis High School in 1932 she and Kenneth Slamp were married November 27, 1934, he preceded her in death on February 1, 1971. She worked for Freeport Memorial Hospital prior to retiring in 1981.She was a longtime member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Davis. She enjoyed flowers, playing cards, doing crossword puzzles, listening to the Brewers baseball games and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by one daughter Janice (Ted) Merchant of Winnebago; three sons Robert (Jane) of Caledonia, Rodney ( fiance Marcia Vondra) of Davis, Richard (Kathy ) of Nora; 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; one brother Russell (Edna) Zimmerman of Davis; several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth, two sisters Marcella, infant sister; one granddaughter Roxanne, two grandsons Brad and Kenneth “K.C.” Slamp, step mother Ida (Toelke) Zimmerman and daughter-in-law Delores.
